The Cyclops Class is mounted with a battle-ship-grade main cannon. In addition to its high speed and fighter capacity for a ship its size, it also boasts advanced tracking and comms systems allowing it to coordinate large numbers of allied craft. The designers decided to give it decent anti-fighter coverage and anti-frigate missiles allowing it to dominate smaller vessels. The only thing it lacks is MAV bays.

Anything short of a cruiser stands little chance against this vessel and any commander who would send them clearly doesn't value their lives.

Firenze produced 2 of these before the war and an additional 5 during. Of the 7, 6 survived the battles of Tomino and Diaspora. The battle for Phobos would claim another 3 and those remaining would survive until the Myu Uprising where only 1 would remain to escort Firenze transports on their exile, following the examples of the remnant L-3 and Morgan Industries' fleets until they found an uninhabited system that could be made to support life and was sufficiently distant to avoid further conflict with Earth.
